    Beaulieu Vineyard ligt in Rutherford, Californië en is een van de langst bestaande wijnmakerijen in de Verenigde Staten. Het bedrijf werd in 1900 opgericht door Georges de Latour en produceert al meer dan een eeuw wijn. Het bleef zelfs tijdens de drooglegging in productie dankzij een contract om wijn te leveren aan kerken. Beaulieu bezit wijngaarden aan de voet van de Mayacamas Mountains waar Bordeaux variëteiten worden verbouwd, en andere wijngaarden in Saint Helena, Calistoga en Carneros beplant met andere variëteiten zoals Pinot Gris, Marsanne en Roussanne, Touriga Nacional en Sangiovese. De wijn is voornamelijk een Cabernet Sauvignon blend, met kleine toevoegingen van Petite Sirah en Cabernet Franc. De afgewerkte wijn rijpt 18 maanden in een mix van Frans, Amerikaans en Europees eiken.

    Het is een geconcentreerde en evenwichtige wijn, met een intens en breed aromatisch profiel. De neus onthult aroma's van aalbessen en kersen, specerijen, tonen van tabak en verse kruiden. In de mond is hij energiek en rijk, rond en zacht. Hij heeft een medium tot volle body. De tannines zijn elegant en goed geïntegreerd. De afdronk is fris en lang en roept hints op van zoete specerijen. Het is de ideale wijn bij gegrild rood vlees of wild.
