Wijnen van de Inama
Geschiedenis
Inama is een familiebedrijf van de derde generatie in Verona, Italië, dat zich al 40 jaar uitsluitend toelegt op het produceren van kwaliteitswijnen. De oprichter van het landgoed, Giuseppe Inama, begon in de jaren vijftig met de aankoop van kleine stukjes land. In de loop der jaren groeide dit uit tot de 30 hectare die het landgoed nu bezit. Terwijl het wijnhuis begon met de oude wijnstokken van Garganega druiven, hebben ze zich in de loop der jaren uitgebreid naar rode wijnen, profiterend van de naburige provincie Vicenza. Hoewel het oostelijke land slechts 10 mijl verwijderd is van de Soave regio waar het grootste deel van het landgoed ligt, zijn de twee verschillende terroirs uniek genoeg om het onderscheidend vermogen te produceren dat het wijnhuis nastreeft.

Belangrijke feiten
In tegenstelling tot veel wijnhuizen die het biologische etiket gebruiken om hun product te verkopen, kiest Inama ervoor dit niet op hun etiketten te vermelden, ondanks het feit dat hun landbouwsysteem biologisch is. De Berici heuvels (ook wel Colli Berici genoemd) in de provincie Vicenza, waar Inama's rode rassen worden verbouwd, is een terroir dat rijk is aan mineralen. Vroeger werden de Carmanère druiven vanuit Frankrijk de regio binnengebracht. De hete, droge zomers van de streek maken het de perfecte omgeving voor Carmenère, en al die jaren later beginnen de wijnen zich langzaam te onderscheiden van hun Franse tegenhangers. Het wijnhuis heeft een minimalistische benadering van oenologische praktijken (ze gebruiken zelfs dezelfde technieken of ze nu op vat of in kuip gisten en selecteren de druiven die ze gebruiken al vele jaren zorgvuldig) en noemt dit als de reden voor hun smaakvolle wijnen en aromatische sensaties.
